Elder Law
Helping clients navigate the complexities of aging and disability, our elder law practice offers a full suite of legal services to individuals and families dealing with the challenges of aging and disability. We understand that each client faces unique legal, financial, and emotional questions, and we aim to provide our clients with expert counsel aimed at attaining security and peace of mind. With that goal in mind, we offer a broad range of services, including:
- Long-Term Care and Medicaid planning: We offer expertise to understand and navigate long-term care options, such as assisted living and nursing home care. When appropriate, we also develop strategies to qualify for government benefits like Medicaid to cover care costs and protect assets.
- Healthcare and Governmental Benefits: We are well-equipped to obtain (and appeal for, as necessary) Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security (including Social Security Disability Income (SSDI)), and other governmental benefits.
- Asset Protection: We implement strategies such as special needs trusts and ABLE accounts to protect assets from the high costs of long-term care and other age-related expenses.
- Elder Abuse and Financial Exploitation: We are prepared to assist clients in elder abuse cases to protect seniors' rights and well-being.
- Guardianship and Conservatorship: We provide guidance and representation when a guardian or conservator is needed to manage the personal or financial affairs of an incapacitated individual.
